After a struggling round and completing a few charity runs in my 20’s, my enjoyment of running started from running parkrun in 2010. From the 5k distance, I have gone on to complete more challenges including: a 24 hour team race, 3 Brighton Marathons and a 33 Mile Ultra Marathon. My main aim was always to complete London Marathon which I did in 2019! I joined Runways just after it started in 2017 and it is great to see how it has grown and how friendly everyone is. I enjoy the social side and it is very convenient that we start and finish at the pub! By day I am a Health and Safety Manager so please do not forget your Hi Vis!

After the obligatory cross country running at school, I’d always thought I didn’t like running and wasn’t a runner.  In 2016, I was persuaded to do Couch to 5K (C25K) via my phone app (no group support) and finished by running 5K at Bromley parkrun. I continued my running journey by joining Biggin Runways and did longer events with the club while staying fit through regular sessions. I became a run leader for the club in 2023. I’ll never been the fastest, but that’s just one aspect of running. I really enjoy being part of the running community and inspiring fellow runners to improve and achieve things that didn’t think themselves capable of. Not only does the club have the twice weekly club runs, but we will often meet up to go to different parkruns and other running events and socialise outside of running, so there is something for everyone. During the day I work for the NHS, providing technical support from an office within a hospital. Running is a great way to work out the kinks from sitting at a desk all day
